at Carramar Station, walking over bridge into Canley Vale, along the school, Orphan School Creek, to Cabramatta CBD and back

and fresh bags for our event.
Maria's Comments:
Wow! It just shows how Rumble Pictures is expanding....I guess at first the though of participating in Clean Up Australia
Day didn't quite elicited the "excited" response but I'm glad we did it. When it comes down to it
RP isn't just a bunch of youngies narrowly focused on movies, films, artworks etc,,,but also for the environment and the community.

Sweating more than a gym session, more dirty than,
well, we’ve been in while, the Clean up Australia Day team were definitely burning some serious kilojoules on Sunday
the 4th of March. Although only a small group of us attended, about 8 of us all up, we still managed to fill
up a dozen or so garbage bags full of all manner of waste and debris (old thongs anyone?)
Starting off at Carramar Station we wound our way
across the bridge, pass Canley
High school until we arrived at Freedom
Plaza, Cabramatta.
Along the way we maneuvered difficult terrain, under
bridges, in bushes and creek banks but we also encountered a lot of support from passer-bys, glad, I guess that we were helping
them clean up their front lawn.
On the way back we stopped to shoot the clean up
commercial which was shot by Tim and starred comedy central a.k.a Ryan. After a few mis-takes; Ryan was basically learning
the script on the spot (two thumbs up for his improv skills) and bit of waiting around for the planes and cars to stop hindering
the sound we finally nailed it and thank goodness for that too!
After almost 4 hours of constantly walking around
carrying big garbage bags we finally made our way back to Carramar and up to Maria’s place for nice filling sandwiches
(do we ever thank her enough?).
All in all it was a great experience; sure we got
our hands dirty but inside we felt much better and if there was one thing we learnt today, it was that if we had ever felt
guilty about “accidentally” littering in the past, well than we definitely redeemed ourselves today.

Maximum Cleanage:
Rumble Pictures puts the “Pow!” into garbage.
Every one’s done it before. Littered I mean. It’s not really a social taboo and it may be your only option
if there are no bins around. We’ve also used plastic bags before and maybe you smoke cigarettes. But when you consider
that it takes 1000 years for non-biodegradable plastic to decompose and that 4.5 trillion cigarettes are littered every year
you might think again.
Taking care of our environment might not mean much to most people but if for only a day in the year you actually want
to help clean up our clogged up waterways, littered parks and streets than let it be on the 4th March. The annual
Clean Up Australia Day.
It’s a hard- working yet worthwhile day where communities get together to help not only the environment but ultimately
themselves as well.
One dynamic group Rumble Pictures has taken the time to help out on this important day. Rumble Pictures is an emerging
production company headed by enthusiastic youths from south-western Sydney.
They are focused mainly on the production of the feature film Maximum Choppage 2 (to be premiered in July) but have also diversified
into other areas such as music videos, documentaries, graphics design and photography.
This talented bunch of youths are also passionate about social and environmental concerns, which is why they have set
up their own site on the Clean Up Australia Day webpage so that anyone in the local area of Cabramatta can come and join them
on what is set to be an interesting and valuable learning experience.
The crew from Rumble Pictures plan to start the clean up campaign at 8.30am headed by PR Manager of Rumble Pictures
Maria Tran.
So if you’re an environmental crusader or a remorseful litterbug, or if you’re just plain bored on Sunday
the 4th of March come along to at the meeting point of Carramar Station and help Clean Up Australia Day- you might
even pick up some movie- making tips!
